Healing and Growth
My Affirmation Journey through Tough Times
Welcome to The Lift Up, your daily infusion of brightness and nourishment for the soul.
Hey beautiful people! Good morning!
Okay we are BACK on schedule! It’s a Wednesday morning and we can carry on with our regularly scheduled newsletter. On Wednesdays I talk about personal journeys with affirmations that you may find relatable. Let’s GO.
Let’s go, ya’ll ready? ;)
Today, I’m finda take y'all on a personal journey.
A journey through one of the toughest times in my life tbh.
And how affirmations became my lifeline, pulling me from the depths of despair to a place of healing and growth.
Let’s get real for a moment.
Being broke is one of the most humbling, painful experiences anyone can go through.
When you’ve got bills stacking up, a family to support, and not enough in your bank account to cover even the essentials, it feels like you’re drowning, frfr.
Every knock on the door, every ring of the phone, becomes a source of anxiety because you know it’s probably another bill collector.
Let’s not sugarcoat it:
The weight of financial stress is crushing.
It’s even harder when you have to look your child in the eye and say “no” to something they need or want because you simply can’t afford it.
That look of disappointment on their face can break you.
I remember those days vividly.
Days when I had to decide between putting gas in the car or buying groceries.
When the credit cards got so high, the monthlies became too high.
Nights when I lay awake, staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out how I was going to make it all work.
It felt like I was failing as a provider, as a parent, as a human being.
There were moments when the humiliation and guilt were overwhelming.
I felt helpless, stuck in a cycle of worry and fear that I couldn’t see a way out of.
But then, something changed.
I found a glimmer of hope in the form of positive affirmations.
I talk about the first time affirmations really worked for me here. I figured, why not try them for this situation? Things faSho couldn’t get any worse!
At first, it seemed almost too simple.
How could repeating a few positive statements make any difference when the problems were so real and immediate?
But honey, I was desperate for anything that could help me climb out of that dark place.
So, I started small.
Every morning, I would look at myself in the mirror and repeat affirmations like, “I am strong and capable of overcoming any challenge,” and “I am worthy of abundance and success.”
It felt awkward at first.
I didn’t believe the words I was saying.
But I kept that ishhh up.
Day after day, I repeated those affirmations.
And slowly, I really did started to notice a shift.
The affirmations didn’t magically make my problems disappear.
But they changed how I felt about myself and my situation.
I began to see myself not as a victim of circumstances but as someone who had the power to change those circumstances.
The guilt and helplessness started to fade, replaced by a growing sense of resilience and determination.
Affirmations helped me reframe my thoughts.
Instead of focusing on what I lacked, I began to focus on what I could achieve.
“I am resourceful and creative in finding solutions to my problems.”
“I am deserving of financial stability and abundance.”
These words became my mantra.
They gave me the strength to face each day with a bit more hope and a bit more courage.
And slowly, things began to change.
Opportunities I hadn’t noticed before started to appear.
I found the energy to take on extra work, to budget more effectively, and to seek out resources and support.
It mos def wasn’t an overnight transformation.
It took time, patience, and a lot of repeated affirmations.
But step by step, I began to climb out of that financial hole.
And more importantly, I began to heal emotionally.
Affirmations reminded me that my worth wasn’t tied to my bank account balance.
They helped me forgive myself for the times I couldn’t provide as I wanted to.
They gave me the strength to keep pushing forward, even when things were tough.
So, to anyone out there struggling with financial stress, I want you to know you’re not alone.
And I want you to know that positive affirmations can be a powerful tool in your healing and growth.
Start with something simple.
Look in the mirror and say, “I am doing the best I can, and that is enough.”
Repeat it until you start to believe it.
Because you are enough.
You are strong, you are capable, and you have the power to overcome any challenge.
Keep shining, keep loving, and keep affirming 🫶🏿✨
Have a great Wednesday y’all,
Amari
